At Meghmani Organics, we are committed to minimising our environmental footprint through responsible resource utilisation, process optimisation, and emission control. Our initiatives focus on energy efficiency, emission compliance, recoveries, responsible disposal of waste, water conservation, and circular waste management. Key manufacturing sites operate under ISO 14001 and follow structured environmental monitoring systems. Employees and contractors undergo periodic environmental training through campaigns, and shop floor learning modules. Awareness drives align with our environmental policy objectives. Main topics which we include are water saving, energy saving, waste management, energy optimisation and competitions during various occasions like world environment day, water day and earth day etc.
Energy & Climate Action
Meghmani Organics is steadily advancing its commitment toward climate action by improving energy efficiency and increasing the share of renewable energy in total electricity consumption. By adopting solar and wind power. Energy audits across all units are being conducted once in three years. The renewable energy share reached 26% in FY 2022–23, increased to 32.4% in FY 2023–24, and further achieved 39.03% in FY 2024–25. The next target is to reach 41% in FY 2025–26, with a long-term goal of achieving 50% renewable electricity consumption by FY 2029–30. These actions support our progress toward a low-carbon manufacturing operations.
Water Management
All Meghmani Organics sites are equipped with full-fledged water management systems, ensuring 100% compliance with treated water discharge parameters as per SPCB/GPCB consent conditions, with zero deviations permitted. Water intake and discharge points are fully metered, and consumption is tracked regularly with monthly and quarterly reviews. Key initiatives such as condensate recovery, blowdown reuse, and process water recycling are implemented across sites and reviewed using water efficiency KPIs. Water conservation opportunities are continuously identified through internal audits, operational reviews, and improvement experiments. In FY 2024–25, targeted actions led to water savings and achieved 9% reduction in total water withdrawal and improved circular water recovery through on-site reuse and condensate-return systems . These results reflect the organisation’s commitment to improving water-use efficiency while meeting regulatory obligations and supporting broader sustainability goals.
Air Emissions Control
Our manufacturing sites maintain 100% compliance with air emission standards monitored by CEMS. We have installed efficient scrubbers, bag filters, tertiary heat exchangers etc. on emission points. Frequency of regulatory audits is being complied, its adherence is at 100% against decided frequency. Emission inventory is prepared as per BRSR and GRI 305 standards. In addition to stack monitoring, ambient air and work area air quality monitoring is carried out during both day and night shifts to ascertain efficiency of emission control systems.
Waste Management
We focus on reducing, reusing, and recycling industrial waste and adhere with co-processing and by-product utilisation. At Meghmani Organics, 100% of hazardous and non-hazardous waste is segregated at source and managed through authorised disposal, co-processing, or recycling channels as per legal and environmental norms. Recyclable waste, including used drums, packaging, and solvent residues, is systematically recovered and reused or sent to recyclers, with a target of diverting 100% of recyclable waste from landfill through circular economy practices. Waste management practices are carried out in compliance with Waste Management Rules, with 100% documentation, manifest tracking, and disposal through authorised agencies as mandated by regulatory authorities. Some streams of hazardous waste are being converted to usable material like gypsum, ammonium sulphate, copper sulphate etc. contributing to resource recovery and reducing environmental burden in line with circular economy principles.
Biodiversity & Land Use
Meghmani actively participate in greenbelt development and protection of native flora through afforestation and ecological landscaping at all sites. Land use is responsibly managed with biodiversity assessments. We have developed green belts and implemented tree plantation drives at all plant locations and in areas allocated by industrial associations. Environmental and ecological impact assessments are conducted before site expansion. We ensure no operations are carried out in protected or biodiversity-sensitive zones. Native species are used in landscaping to promote regional biodiversity. We support community-led awareness campaigns.
Resource Efficiency
Raw material consumption and solvent consumption is tracked against output to improve process yield. Process optimisation projects have resulted in reduced consumption of water and energy. We engage cross-functional teams for continuous improvement initiatives. improved yield, reduction in batch cycle times, solvent recovery, and material optimisation reduce environmental impact. Continuous improvement practices ensure minimal resource intensity per MT of product.
Environmental Compliance & Governance
We follow a structured EMS program, adhering to ISO 14001 and national laws. Environmental permits and statutory audits are managed proactively through compliance dashboards. External and internal EMS audits are conducted annually to ensure compliance. A central environmental compliance tracker is maintained at corporate level. Third-party audits are undertaken periodically by all manufacturing sites for transparency and governance.
Responsible Care®
Crop Protection division is signatory of the Responsible Care® initiative, implementing its all seven codes. Our EHS Policy and Responsible Care® program is based on Guiding principles of responsible care global charter, these policies guide the implementation and improvement of management practices across all seven codes. We do conduct periodical progress and compliance review of Responsible care audits in quarterly management review meetings.
Product Stewardship
We have established process to identify, implement and document health, safety and environment measures and manage risks so that products can be handled and used safely for their intended purpose. We ensure that adequate information is made available about our agrochemical and pigment products so that user can handle and use it safely, our action includes registrations, MSDS, TREM cards, labels, stewardship summary sheets, training/guidance to customers and distribution chain. Proactive guidance to users about safe and responsible use of our agrochemical products helps reduce environmental impact and support safe practices across the value chain.
R&D and Process Development
Through our integrated R&D Centre and Process Development Lab, we improve our chemistries by keeping sustainability as an integral part of improvement, this includes optimising manufacturing operations, reduce time cycles and enhancing product performance. Time cycle of a critical exothermic process step reduced by 50%. Our key focus areas include resource optimisation, recovery, material reuse, minimising raw material consumption, improving product quality, and transitioning from solvent-based to dry and water-based formulations—ensuring efficiency and environmental responsibility. R&D ensures product safety related studies are done at initial level so that product handling at plant level and customer level can be guided through product safety related information.
